Think Outside the Beach Part 2 - "I Love it When We're Cruisin' Together"

In our last blog post in this series, we encouraged people to start thinking differently about the type of destination wedding they could have in Jamaica. As explained in part 1 of this blog series, Jamaica is more than its beaches. From our mountainous interior to our rivers and waterfalls that flow out to our sandy beaches you have a lot of options to choose from.

But if the sea is still calling you , why stay on the beach? Take it up another notch and have a cruise wedding!

Now, by cruise wedding I am not talking about an expensive cruise on a massive ship with tons of passengers. I am talking about your own unique yacht experience with 65 - 100 of your friends and family.

Imagine, setting sail on a 69 foot yacht and docking in the middle of the Caribbean sea. There are crystal clear blue waters as far as the eye can see. You're on the upper deck being kissed by the sun and the warm salty breezes as you say, "I do".

You do a beautiful cord ceremony to signify the 2 becoming 1, which fits perfectly within the sailing theme that you have chosen for tying the knot.

Guests are invited to move on to the reception area on the lower deck, but not before signing your ship wheel guest "book".

You pop some champagne (or perhaps some world famous Appleton Jamaica rum) to start the celebration. And as the waves rock, you rock the boat to some great Jamaican music, from rocksteady, to reggae, and of course, for a real party vibe, some dancehall.

Close to the end of the celebrations, you "trash the dress", as you and your guests take the party to the sea, literally!

After a perfect fun-filled day at sea, your friends and family can collect small wooden replicas of anchors, so that they can remember the awesome day they had as you became anchored in love.

Sounds like a pretty magical and epic way to tie the knot, right?

With companies in Jamaica, like Loose Cannon Tours, which offer scrumptious menus of jerked chicken and other Jamaican food, a wide range of selections at the bar and reasonable prices per person, we can surely make your seafaring vision a reality with just a little planning!
